I have never really considered walking as a real way of keeping fit, a bit like ping pong or badminton, not real sports, I just considered it a fairly weak fitness exercise.
I might have to change this attitude as part of becoming a fitness wanker as, for the second time running, my Nike Fuelband has gone off the chart after spending time walking around.
Maybe walking does not really get the heart rate going, but because it is a consistent speed over a long distance or time. It seems to be playing a good part in my overall campaign to become more healthy and lose weight.
In the case of Westonbirt Arboretum though, the gurt lush pubs close by probably ruin the health benefits of the one hour walk. Bah.
